Senoko Energy and Gentari Collaborate

Senoko Energy and Gentari have signed an MoU to explore the feasibility of importing hydrogen gas from Malaysia to Singapore, with plans to integrate it into Senoko Energy’s existing and new combined cycle gas turbine assets, enhancing their efficiency and environmental performance.

  • Signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with City Energy in 2023 to jointly study technical and commercial feasibility of importing and supplying hydrogen between City Energy and Senoko facilities in northern Singapore

  • Participated in Singapore's Support SMB 2023 event at Suntec Convention Hall with our partners, Comfort Delgro, Wallbox and Maiora, to advocate the importance of ESG reporting for Small Medium Businesses

  • Successfully launched “Circle of Green” in 2023 to encourage more landed home owners in Singapore to install solar panels with a higher return of investment with us

  • Piloted Singapore’s first peer-to-peer renewable energy trading platform, SolarShare, with 100 participants in 2020

  • Launched our first 100% carbon neutral electricity plan, LifeGreen24, to Singapore households in 2020
Climate Protection
  • First energy generation company in Singapore to achieve both ISO50001 Energy Management Systems in 2013 and ISO140001 Environmental Management Systems in 2004

  • Successfully upgraded two of our Combined-Carbon Gas Turbines (CCGT), resulting in improved thermal efficiency of the Gas Turbines and annual reduction of 15,000 tCO2e. Senoko was awarded NEA’s Efficiency National Partnership Award for this initiative in 2021

  • Won EMA's Singapore Energy Award for our significant contribution to the energy sector in 2013
Resource Conservation
  • Switched over 95% of household and business customers to e-bills in 2023

  • Signed the Green Nation Pledge launched by Ministry of Sustainability & Environment in 2023
  • Launched Senoko Climate Action Pledge in 2019 for our commitment to:

  2. Reducing, reusing and recycling paper

Community Development
  • Officially adopted TOUCH Community Services' TOUCH Young Arrows at Sembawang since 2021 in support of its mission to nurture children and youths from low-income and single-parent families to make a positive impact in society and to be future leaders in the community

  • Launched #CycleforChange in 2022 in partnership with Garmin, T-RECs.ai and Mandarin Oriental Hotel Singapore to help advocate low carbon commute by cycling. Total of 2,273 participants, with 670,904km cycled and 426,768kg of CO2 avoided. Campaign won multiple Marketing Interactive awards

  • Championed PowerGig 2020 and helped raise $50,000 for Invictus Funds to help those affected by COVID-19. Won Marketing Interactive Award for Best Use of Experiential Live Marketing Campaign

  • Supported Hair for Hope to help children cancer patients and their families in 2018, 2019 and 2021

  • Launched Senoko Sustainability Challenge in 2013 – a successful community initiative to help reframe sustainability in the local context, targeting students. 57 submissions from schools were garnered during the repeat run in 2016


Employee Welfare and Talent Management
  • Supports Union of Power & Gas Employees' (UPAGE) Education to reward children of union members who performed well academically and who fulfilled a set of criteria

  • Supports Labour Movement U Care Fund to improve the welfare of lower-income union members and their families

  • Supports Malay Youth Literary Association (4 PM) to uplift the educational status, mold and shape lives of the youth in the Malay-Muslim community

  • Successfully certified with Data Protection Trustmark in June 2023

  • Zero major findings in ISO27001 Audit

  • Participated in CIDeX with over 100 cyber professionals, in a nation-wide critical infrastructure cyber exercise jointly organised by iTrust and Ministry of Defence (MINDEF), and supported by National Research Foundation and Cyber Security Agency (CSA)
